Big news in makeup: Physicians Formula Organic Wear

This is huge news! Certified organic makeup for us beauty lovers. I'm excited about this because the more I research chemicals in makeup, the more nervous I get about what I've been putting on my face for the last oh, twenty years. The more pure, the better.

I am happy to pass all this information along to my fellow dollfaces. One step at a time. First check out the new line of Physicians Formula. Next buy yourself a Prius. Don't forget to recycle and conserve water. Baby steps. Together we can lead a healthier and more earth friendly lifestyle, right?

Physicians Formula Organic Wear is the first brand - prestige or mass - to bring certified organic makeup to consumers - this is huge industry news and Physicians Formula are pioneers in the beauty market. The certification is actually Eco Cert - a certification out of France and Physicians Formula is the first US brand to attain it. The products are 100% free of parabens, GMO's, synthetic fragrances, preservatives and synthetic colors. So you can feel good about looking good!

To celebrate this landmark launch, they are teaming up with well-known organic farmer's markets across the country so that when consumers are looking for organic produce, etc., they can also find good-for-you makeup. It's literally a one-stop shop!

This Sunday, they are sampling coupons and products at the Hollywood Farmer's Market. *The address is Iva and Selma Avenue between Hollywood and Sunset Blvd.*
The market will run tomorrow, Sunday June 15th, from 9-1pm, click here for more information!

Physicians Formula aren't alone. Other brands with organic status:
--- Lavera (inc. all their very nice and good makeup)
--- Dr Hauschka
--- Ecco Bella
--- Burt's Bees ... take a look in your nearest health food store or similar, for example if you're in the US try perusing the aisles of Whole Foods, Wild Oats, etc. There's already a lot of good, quality organic beauty products out there.
Though it's great that the larger companies are following suit.
--- Aveda of course have always been fairly green. Though not entirely organic, many of their products include as many organic ingredients as possible, and the company policy leans towards using plant-sourced ingredients as far as possible.
--- and, more mainstream, there's Origins recent Organics skincare products. There's a rumour they may be reformulating their cosmetics to organic and full vegetarian status - though many of them are already free of beeswax and other animal products anyway.

On your recommendation, I just bought some of this to give to my sister for her birthday! She has been talking about trying to be more organic. I hope she likes it. :)

Also, doesn't that model look a lot like Marg Helgenberger?
