Daily Dollfaces

Please, please tell me the secret to looking like Heather Locklear at age 46. Yes, the woman is forty six!

Criss Angel needs a makeover stat! Camo pants and hat and an open shirt? I've seen European men dress kind of crazy, I've witnesses gay men wear interesting outfits but Criss is neither European or gay.

I love Paris Hilton's bag! And that's all I have to say about her.

Patrick Dempsey is cute but his wife always looks angry. She's got the "Posh" expression on her face! I want to see Made of Honor- my kind of girly chick flick.
Patricia Wetig is years too old for the short dress and tights combination! Who does she think she is...

...Lindsay Lohan? She looks like a server from the Excalibur in Las Vegas. All she needs is a pointy hat and a tray of Lancelot cocktails.
Kim Kardashian and her sister reminds me of my sister and me. She is tiny and petite and I feel like a mutant giant next to her.

Here's Halle Berry sans Spanx! This is what a woman looks like after giving birth weeks prior.

Is she pregnant again? Elisabeth Hasselback looks like a package!

Yeah, this looks just like me minus the black hair. Other than that, well...I'm a little heavier and I can't sing but I feel just like Amy Winehouse. Pale, tired, disoriented.

Contest Winners!

Congrats to the contest winners!

Claudia from Ohio
and Ruth from California!

I'll be posting another contest very soon...

Peoples Most Beautiful

I don't...I'm not sure...I really...uh...well, here's Rumer Willis.

Isla Fischer is going to do an amazing job playing Becky Bloomwood in the Shopaholic movie. I love this actress. She's super cute, has the best hair and seems like a lot of fun. What's not to like?

Zoe Saldana, this girl is so pretty. I agree, she's one of the most beautiful actresses around. And she was born in New Jersey, a fellow Jersey girl, woo! (although raised in New York)

What I think is beautiful about Mary J. Blige is her talent and confidence!

I've always thought Kate Hudson was adorable, I enjoy her fun movies. I watched the E! True Hollywood special about Kate and mom Goldie. She had a nose job for sure.

People's Most Beautiful is on news stands and I always enjoy paging through and seeing who People thinks is beautiful. Included is Carrie Underwood, Salma Hayek, Julianne Moore, Eva Longoria and husband Tony Parker, Jessica Alba and Cash Warren, the enitre cast of Gossip Girls and Sarah Silverman to name a few.

Most of the time beauty goes beyond what is obvious. It's an essence someone has about them, not necessarily physical beauty but the way a person carries themselves.

Daily Dollfaces

Taking part in some cyber-shopping, I came up with an outfit I'd like to own. I wish I had unlimited funds because I love clothes and shoes and purses. I found everything at Wet Seal/Reference online.

Can I hear a what- what? It's Neil Diamond Night on American Idol! Don't get yourself too wound up, its going to be a ballads night. I can't wait to see what kind of plastic surgery he's had like Barry Manilow and Kenny Rogers before him. Here are the song choices we can expect:

Brooke: I Am I Said, I'm A Believer (please don't make the pouty face and for once, belt it OUT)

Jason: Forever in Blue Jeans, September Morn (put down the bong before your song, dude)

David Archuleta: Sweet Caroline, America (aw, golly gee..shucks!)

Syesha: Thank the Lord for the Night Time, Hello Again (she's going to belt it out like last week)

David Cook: I'm Alive, All I Really Need is You (I don't need to see it, I'm sure he'll do great)

It's rare to see Mary Kate Olsen looking happy, clean and cute at the same time. Her foundation/silly putty lips gives her a corpse-like appearance. When my hair is greasy at the roots, I wear a hat. Or I wash my hair.

You don't need to see her face to know this is Lindsay "Leggings" Lohan.

Leelee Sobieski should be holding a high ball in one hand and a cigarillo in the other. A mink turban would have complimented this retro look beautifully.

Liv Tyler is perfection but this feedsack of an outfit needs to go back to Loehmanns. It does nothing, NOTHING, to compliment her skin and hair and body. Although it is ideal for when you ate too many bagels, pizza and crackers.

How often do you coordinate your lips, nails and earrings? Me too, all the time! I want to see what Christina's baby looks like. I imagine he has blonde bouffant hair and cherry red lips. He wears diapers made of silk, booties trimmed in diamonds and a rhinestone encrusted pacifier.
Speaking of diamond studded kidstuffs, Gwen Stefani bought her son Kingston a Slip N' Slide at KMart, I know! Seriously, yes KMart. But of course she didn't carry it herself, that's what the Shopping Assistant is for. The girl in the dress is probably the nanny and somewhere lurks a bodyguard. Celebs do very little for themselves.
I discussed this topic the other day with a friend, at what age is in inappropriate to wear mini skirts and as the case may be, mini dresses? I think the cutoff is early 30's. Should Gwyneth be a little more covered up here? A giant lace doile really does make an interesting dress. I have a knitted toilet paper cozy that would simply be divine as a tunic.

Does Gisele ever wake up in the morning and feel bloated or fat? Ever have an Ugly Day? A bad hair day? Does she have age spots or fine lines, wrinkles or laugh lines? Nah...didn't think so.

Catherine Zeta Jones on location for a film. I can't believe she's wearing jeans! She seems so glamorous, I love seeing her dressed down. And by down, I mean wearing what I would wear on a normal day.

Daily Dollfaces

Imagine wearing a dress like this to a White House dinner! I would have chosen something a little different, more refined...

...like pants and a leather vest.

Mischa always looks THRILLED. I want to see her with a bob, not the Posh cut but like a Louise Brooks kind of coif.

So what if her outfit is totally mismatched? When you are as pretty as Natalie Portman, you can get away with anything.

Lisa Rinna and her daughter at the premiere of Speed Racer. Cute!

Whenever I've been in the Caribbean islands, its inevitable- some random woman will shake beads in my face and offer to braid my hair. Kellie Pickler gave in to island fever.

There are time when I look at Julia Roberts and think she looks stunning and other times when I think she looks average.

I always laugh out loud during Kathy Griffin's tv shows. And I love to watch WorkOut with Jackie Warner. This season she's portrayed as a huge ...witch!
Halle showing off her uh... Berrys.

Heather Locklear is currently filming Flirting With Forty. It's based on a book and will be a Lifetime movie.

Here's a cute and comfortable outfit as worn by Eva Longoria.

I can't stand Cheryl Burke! I watch Dancing with the Stars every week and her hair drives me nuts. It's like a muppets hair! She seems kind of snooty.

Jen and Ben attend the White House Dinner. I swear everyone from Hollywood was there. They should have held it at the Kodak Theater.

Jo Malone

Jo Malone creates the most amazing scents. You can blend and layer and have fun with all the intoxicating fragrances from fruity to spicy. One of my favorites is a clean and light scent which is perfect for spring called White Jasmine and Mint. The shower gel, which I've been using, is so luxurious and it leaves the skin lightly scented and soft to the touch.

This is how Jo Malone describes the scent, "This enchanting essence, inspired by a sun-drenched morning in an English country garden, perfectly captures the scent of jasmine, lily, orange flower and rose on the morning breeze."

Do you know how badly I'd like to take a stroll through an English country garden while breathing in jasmine? I'm glad I have my White Jasmine and Mint shower gel so I can close my eyes and use my imagination.

Daily Dollfaces

Jessica Alba looks very comfortable in her Biblically inspired outfit- gladiator sandals, the long dress and the flowing wrap. She's a page right out of the Old Testament.
Rumer needs to hike up the neck line on her gown! It's almost showing off things I don't want to see. Why is she always photographed?

Christina Ricci is so darn cute, I saw her on a talk show and she's funny and down to earth.
I'll pass on Speed Racer though- looks like a headache waiting to happen with all the bright CGI stuff.

I know Sienna Miller likes to dress all boho and everything but the blue plastic sunglasses, which are most likely designer and very expensive, remind me of movies like Real Genius and Valley Girl. Movies of the 80's where fashion was at an all time low. Ankle boots? Seriously, I can't take a redo of my highschool fashion faux pas.

Pink and purple are for Easter Eggs and Barbie dolls. Mariah has the means to dress in Armani and Calvin Klein and she chooses clothes like this?
I like Lauren Conrad's style and her nail color. I have no idea why this girl was invited to the White House Correspondents dinner. I read over the guest list and cannot fathom how many of the "celebs" were invited.
Kelly Osbourne's dress-tunic-housecoat thing was clearly inspired by the great RELAX tee shirts from Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

Janet Jackson wants you to see her boobs however, her feet remain well hidden under the cuffs of her long pants. Her outfit says, "Look at my chest not at my shoes."

Emmy Rossum's dress has my name written all over it. I want something like this, its a beautiful cut and color. Sadly I have no fancy dinner or premiere to wear it to.

I love celebrities without makeup. They usually look younger. Courtney Cox probably had botox but not too much.

Speaking of Botox, Cindy and Rande, two for one shots? His forehead is monstrous.
He needs Tyra Banks bangs.

Amy Smart a celeb who lives quietly, dresses nicely, works to save the environment and seems like a decent person. She loves dogs. We could be pals.

Mothers Day is right around the corner!

For the Mother who wants a little summer color but won't lay in the sun, here is True Blue Spa Shade to Order. I love this stuff because you can adjust how light or dark you want to go! Turn the top left or right depending on if you want to spend the summer as dark as George Hamilton or simply sun kissed.

Shade to Order contains Aloe Vera and Vitamin E and smells tropical like oranges and coconuts. I apply this every day in the summer, going to about a 3 or 4 which is not too dark. Enough to look summery but not a fake orange as if I've spent a month locked in a tanning chamber. Self tanner is the way to go to save your skin from aging and skin cancer!

For the mom who wants a little luxury in her life, how about giving her the Whish Papaya Coconut Shave Cream? Smells so yummy and makes your legs super silky. Using Whish gives your legs lots of moisture and you will get a closer shave. Take it into the shower so the heat of the water can combine with the heady scent of coconut for a spa-like experience.

The New Age Mom who loves yoga and saving the rain forest will want a case of Zrii. This beverage is endorsed by the Chopak Center, I can just imagine Deepak Chopra himself meditating with a bottle of Zrii close at hand. This vitamin packed drink is a blend the amalaki fruit along with other herbs and fruits. Zrii packs a powerful nutritious punch and as a yoga loving, save- the- rain forest kind of gal, I'd be thrilled with a couple of bottles!
Footpetals makes all kinds of neat products to help take care of tired feet. For the mother who is on her aching feet all day long, Footpetals offers a whole line of treats to soothe feet. Sweaty Pedi Foot Fragrance keeps feet feeling fresh. Natural Tea Tree and Wasabi help control odor. After you spray this Vanilla scented product, your feet instantly feel soft and fresh rather than hot, swollen and tired.

Footpetals Cooling Gel will be my summer staple. This anti-inflammatory cooling gel instantly relaxes achy, swollen feet. The gel contains tea tree oil, aloe and jojoba wax among other good- for- you ingredients. Menthol gives your toes a cooling sensation which is a welcome reprieve after spending a scorching day in sandals.
For the mom who likes to sit poolside and sip cocktails, Demeter has created a delicious, fresh, unbelievable scent called Frozen Margarita. Combining the citrus smell of limes and tequila (?) Demeter is somehow able to recreate the fragrance of an ice cold perfectly blended Margarita! Your senses will be intoxicated!

Mothers Day is only less than two weeks away. You better start thinking about what you are going to get dear mom. Better yet, think about what you want! Start telling the kids so they can drop hints to your husband. Kids are not subtle. Tell them what you want and ask them to pass it along to dad.

This year I want a Dyson Vacuum, the kind that sucks up pet hair. I'd also like a cruise to Alaska. I'm not asking for much, right? After all we do around the house, running endless errands, taking the kids to sporting events, the constant cleaning, walking the dog, picking up dog poop in the yard and much more, don't you think every mother should take this one day and get spoiled? Go ahead and buy yourself something nice and luxurious for Mothers Day! You deserve it. And probably, so does your mom.

Rehab by Deborah Lippmann

You know a hot color for the season is the deep dark blue. I was curious how Deborah Lippmann's Rehab would compare to the infamous Poison Blue by Dior. Naturally Lippmann collection nail colors are all superior to what you can buy in the drugstore. You are working with a higher caliber product and the formula offers high shine and longer wearing color.

Rehab is a dark navy blue but instead of the inky midnight hue of Poison Blue, its a dark denim shade. First coat goes on relatively sheer and the color builds with each application. I start off with a clear base coat and end with a clear top coat. The seals in the color and helps it last a few more days without obvious chipping.

I applied three coats of Rehab for a dark blue shade that looks nice on toes or fingernails. This is a great color, funky and hip but not too crazy. Click here for more on the Deborah Lippmann Collection.

Very unflattering shot of Madonna. She hated the name "Madge" until her husband told her it was short for "your majesty" or your madgesty. Pip pip and cheerio!

Finally a glimple of Baby Harlow! I dig that name. I like the trend of old movie stars last names as first names. My favorite is Marilyn Monroe but I couldn't very well name my daughter Monroe, too reminiscent of Jim JM Bullock as Monroe Ficus on Too Close for Comfort.

Here is your daily Gwyneth Paltrow Shoe Report. Today is a golden gladiator sandal which I like! Comfortable, flat and appropriate to walk in. This is the most I've seen of her all year. Because she has a movie to promote, she's making herself highly visible. I'm on to you Paltrow!

You know what? I wouldn't mind one bit looking like Gisele as I walked down the streets of New York.
This is why we wear sunscreen on our hands! Faye Dunaways splotchy hands haunt me in my dreams.
I just read that Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal are planing a bike tour of Tuscany. How romantic. Let's get a bicycle built for three and I'll join them!

Looks like Hilary Duff is climbing into a big rig. Why is such a little lady driving a big gas guzzler?
I love Claudia Schiffer's outfit. I wish my hair was long and straight like hers.
I'm seeing Baby Mama this weekend, I can't wait. I am working on a script right now which has two female leads...maybe for Amy and Tina?
No black? Maddox totally picked this daffodil yellow dress out for Angelina!

Amanda Bynes is cute and her darker locks look lovely but I can't stop looking at her two long toes!

Daily Dollfaces

I'm kind of digging the babushka wearing boyfriend of Natalie Portman. I am tired of seeing the chiseled perfection of Hollywood boys.

The casting director should hire Kelly Osbourne to play the Joker in the next Batman movie. She comes cheap and does her own makeup! I assume she's currently in character? Ah, a method actress.

I want to take second to profess my new love for this Hamilton Beach Percolator. This makes coffee in a timely manner and what's most important, the coffee stays HOT. You can make 12 cups at a time. Its easy to use and clean. AND you can see your reflection in it so you can apply your MAC as you brew coffee.

I love everything about Rachel McAdams's outfit except the pillow- like bag! It's cavernous. I would lose my hand in there looking for my lipgloss.

Mischa is a pretty girl who needs help with her dress choices. Goldfinger? Gold with silver accents? Bilevel hair?

Gwyneth's Parade of Ugly Shoes continues with these buckled fetish clodhoppers. Are her toes running from an S&M convention?

Cindy Crawford has had little nips and tucks through the years. A little eye lift maybe. Botox shots, yes. And definitely lip fillers! It's obvious.

Don't think for one second that Courteney Cox is on her own with little Coco. Courteney always has a nanny standing a few feet away out of camera range. I believe -generally speaking- that Hollywood moms might be sort of helpless. Umbrella holders, bag handlers, bodyguards and nannies are the norm.

Two supermodels of the good old 80's Helena and Christy.

I love the music from Phantom of the Opera and greatly admire Andrew Lloyd Weber so I was thrilled to watch this weeks American Idol. Shocking that Carly was voted off but she already had huge success as a singer in Ireland, even performing in Les Miserables. Why does Jason always look stoned? Brooke looks like me. David looks like he's about to say, "Gosh, golly gee, shucks!" Syesha is going to be an actress on Broadway and David Cook knows American Idol is his to win.

Reader Giveaways RIGHT HERE. RIGHT NOW!

What I can't stand is trying to find a pair of jeans that actually fit my body. I don't want jeans that go as low as my pubic bone. I don't want to bend over and expose my underwear or have the dreaded plumber's crack. Tummy Tuck Jeans are the answer to these and other problems we have with jeans! Say adios to the muffin top!

These will hold your stomach in nice and flat, elongate your legs and make your bottom look trim. AND they won't hang down low when you lean over.

Here is the official 411 on the jeans...

Tummy Tuck is made with 4 percent Lycra in the denim, instead of the usual 2 percent, and the difference gives it comfort and mobility. But the secret to the tummy tucking is not only in the fabric content but also in the type of denim weaving, now patented, which constrains the stretch in the front and also gives the rear a lift. The fit stays comfortable but allows most women to buy a size or even two sizes smaller than normal. And that is quite a selling point.

I have a pair of these pants and they sure do make my stomach look as flat as a drum. They are super soft and ultra-comfortable. If you want to win yourself a pair then send me an email with TUMMY in the subject line. My email is below. Click here to read more about the miracle of Tummy Tuck Jeans.

Daily Dollfaces

Liv Tyler always manages to look casual and comfortable without looking messy. I think she's got her head on straight- no crazy antics for her (that we know of). I like this girl.

Here's a lovely gal named Lake Bell who is wearing bridal bouquets as epaulets on her shoulders. I would have gone with black strappy heels and a black bag. Hair up was a good call. It's hard to match all shades of red plus all that crimson on a red carpet? Too much!

Well, you know how the saying goes...you can take the botox out of the girl but you can't take the filler out of her lips.

Wow! Celebs sweat? Check out the wet spots under her arms. Pregnancy makes you feel like you've got your own internal furnace, those nine months wreck havoc on your body. It did on mine. But I never had sweat stains.

No. Just no! Mariah who is your stylist? Shorty shorts plus tights?

I'll be honest, I'm attracted to ridiculously inappropriate footwear. I've been known to wear heels to the San Diego Zoo for a day of hilly walking. Flip flops to walk the streets of Las Vegas. Ballet flats on rugged terrain. But even in my wild imagination, I cannot conjure up a scenerio where I would be able to wear Hilary Duff's streetwalker chic boots. But I like them.

flynetphoto

I could call the next few pictures "Gwyneth Paltrow and Her Parade of Ugly Shoes"

This hybrid of footwear is men's loafers with tassels combined with horse hooves and wood.

This particular shoe looks pretty from a distance. It makes her legs look long and sexy. But...

..yikes! up close you can see her toes are smushed and I really don't see a lot of difference between these torture devices and Chinese foot binding.

These are Oliver Twist shoes. They are big and black and clunky looking even more severe with the delicate white dress. Lose the matronly blazer and the shoes!

Better without makeup part 1: Kim Kardashian.
I think she might have a unibrow if she skips an eye brow waxing or two.

Better without makeup part 2, Jessica Simpson.

Clay Aiken is growing his hair in to a bob. At first I thought Tyra was holding on to a girl but its just Clay and his long soccer mom do'. Then I realized Clay's just trying to make the Posh haircut work.

This is why you must choose your mate carefully. Cindy Crawford knows that to create gorgeous children, you must find a partner whose features compliment your own. I think Brad Pitt and Angelina subscribe to this theory too.

This is what I see when I look in the mirror except my aesthetic isn't cracked induced. Pale skin, eyes rolled back in the head, chapped lips, weary expression- yup, that's a mom!

Physician's Formula, Earth Day

Here's a contest for you to enter...who knows, maybe you'll win! Wouldn't that be awesome? Who doesn't want to win a little something? This contest will go live tomorrow and here is the link for tomorrow...

Physicians Formula is giving away 1,000 Organic Wear bronzers in order to help make our world a little greener with makeup that’s good for the earth and for us too!

Cargo Blu Ray: Ready for your close up?

With this Cargo Blu Ray cosmetic collection, you will be ready for photo ops and the paparazzi. Okay, so maybe you aren't in front of any cameras but still, we all want to look flawless. With the advent of high definition television, celebs with less than perfect skin are fretting over their every pore and zit. This kit is designed to hid flaws while illuminating skin under bright lights. Or if you are a normal kind of person and not a celebrity, your skin will look gorgeous for your own benefit.

The Mattifier shrinks the appearance of pores and fine lines. I was nervous how this would go on over my moisturizer but no problems. I used the Biore moisturizer I mentioned a few posts ago, skipped the primer and used the Mattifier. Lovely smooth skin. Next I used a big brush to apply the Pressed Powder. I did not use a liquid foundation as I usually do, instead I used the powder and my skin tone looked even and clear thanks to the "micronized light diffusers reflecting light randomly to camouflage imperfections." What imperfections?

The Blush /Highlighter is a pale pink color that adds a little ooomph without going overboard and giving you clown cheeks. The whole look of the Blu Ray is to make your skin look beautiful and clear, poreless and smooth. This blush adds a hint of color, a glow to your cheeks. I'm trying to tone down the pink cheeks and go at it with a light hand so this is ideal for me. If less is more as we age then I want to focus on having clean and pimple-free skin rather than lighting up my face like a Vegas billboard.

I was so thrilled with the Lip Gloss. These four neutral colors look nice individually or blended together. These have the trademark Cargo high shine and smooth, slick texture. I've been a fan of Cargo glosses for years and this does not disappoint.

Last is the Blu Ray Mascara which features a comb-like applicator. This enables it to reach from roots to end, coating each lash with color. You might be surprised at how long lashes look after using this one! I love it. So less is more except when it comes to my eyelashes and then you know how I like them- big and bold!

Oh Minnie! Like Salma Hayek, the pregancy has gone right to her boobs and I'm jealous! That belly is barely blossoming but I have a feeling she's going to look adorable right up until the end.

When I look at Mischa Barton I can't help but think of her as a vomit covered child in the Sixth Sense. Creepy! Her dress is too voluminous for her thin frame. Perhaps she's trying to look bigger, not smaller. In that case, good for you Mischa!

I don't know who this Heidi Montag creature is or why she's in every tabloid magazine I pick up but here she is posing with her "fans". Whatever! What's got me puzzled is the duct tape around her shoes?
Elizabeth Hurley has been airbrushed within an inch of her life. Don't feel bad when you look at her flawless skin and body and remember she's in her 40's. A little Photoshop here and there and we can look like that too. (maybe you already look that good but I know I'd need help)

Who wears sunglasses at night? Movie stars like Tom Cruise, that's who!
Katie's dress reminds me of orange formica, macrame plant hangers, incense, patchouli, basically the early 70's.
I have a sudden craving for grapefruits, cut in half.
I could never stand next to Victoria Beckham. Why? Because I actually eat and it shows. I get the feeling she's the type to order salad (dressing on the side) and water at every meal.
This pregnancy, Gwen is going for the blonde hair and red lips which is typical Gwen style, but long flowy dresses to stay comfy. And maybe to conceal the baby bump and weight gain?
Yes Selma Blair is hot but that little guy is truly the glamorous one in this picture.
Famke Janssen is wearing such a cool dress, it reminds me of flower petals.

I am all over the yellow-black color combination this spring and I love Elisabeth Hasselbeck's dress. I would have paired the outfit with black strappy shoes but that's me.
Cate Blanchett popped her kid out no more than three weeks ago and she's already hitting the streets. I wonder if she had the C-Section/Tummy Tuck combo that's so popular with the A-list set?

Well, you can't really say anything bad about Catherine Zeta Jones, she is gorgeous. She does look a wee bit matronly here but what do you expect, she's married to someone three times her age!

Amber Valetta is super pretty and I wouldn't mind waking up tomorrow looking exactly like her.

Somme Institute

The Somme Institute's bottles look like something from a modern art museum. Their packaging is very simple and clean like furniture from IKEA.

The skincare regime starts with the Nourishing Cleanser. The cleanser contains Somme Institute's MDT5 which is their vitamin complex. This product cleans the skin without stripping it, your skin will not feel squeaky and dry after using it but will look makeup free and healthy.

A brief word about the MDT5 complex which sounds so scientific: but is really a combo of vitamins:
"Molecular Dispersion Technology 5 or MDT5 - is a non-prescription, synergistic blend of six highly engineered vitamins (A, C, E, D, B3 and B5) that infiltrate the inner skin layers in their active forms at high concentrations. Unlike other vitamin formulations, this unique biochemical complex can penetrate deep within the skin without oxidizing or losing potency when exposed to air or light."

Lets talk about the Double Defense Day Moisture SPF 30. I love the fact this product contains an SPF of 30 and blocks the UV and UVA rays. Years ago we weren't so concerned with blocking the sun, we baked outside or didn't wear a daily sunscreen. Now its crucial to wear a sunscreen for not only skin cancer but to prevent wrinkles. This cream helps to keep in moisture, protect from the sun and boasts the ability to reduce fine lines and wrinkles with continued use.

I use the Transport Pads after my shower when my face is clean. These pre-moistened pads contain vitamin B5, aloe powder, chamomile extract, and green tea extract as well as beta and alpha hydroxy acids. These are powerful ingredients used to keep skin in optimal condition. I expected these to be drying but they serve to infuse the skin with hydration and work in conjunction with the other products in the system.

I read in all my beauty magazines about Serum's and how we should be using these in our day to day skincare regimen. The Somme Institutes Serum serves to deliver high concentrations of Vitamin C and other collagen boosting ingredients.

I love this one and use it as much as possible. A Bomb is made up of vitamins A and E. This product speeds cell renewal and works to repair sun damage and helps smooth those fine lines and wrinkles. I like anything with vitamin A because it is a part of the retinol family, and as you probably know, retinol is useful for skin health.

When used all together, the Somme Institutes's line of skin care products will leave your skin looking fresh, healthy and glowing. I've only been using these items for about a week, too soon to see a huge difference but I have high hopes! Click here for more information.

Jennifer Weiner seriously needs no introduction. You know who she is. America's favorite author came out with a brand new novel called Certain Girls. I am very excited for the opportunity to interview her and of course I asked her about her favorite beauty products. And here's what she said:

"Right now, I’d have to say that the Shu Uemura hair-care line is genius. I have really fine hair that basically lies there doing nothing (it is the follicular equivalent of a drunk guy on a couch), so I need a lot of product to coax it into any semblance of style, and their stuff is great.
I finally splurged on a BaByliss blow dryer and a ceramic straightening iron, both of which have improved my life and appearance immeasurably. Also, now that I am old, it’s all about the Laura Mercier concealer."

Clinique mascara, who knew?

I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I reached for my new Clinique Lash Power mascara and found that it really delivered the goods.

This mascara creates long fluttery eyelashes and coats even the tiniest of lashes with color. It removes easily with warm water. I love how my eye lashes looked extremely long but in a most natural way. The mascara also stays on for the day without flaking off or smudging. I like my eyelashes as thick as a bungee cord but lately I'm in the mood for a natural look.
Do you know that French women, with their innate style, go for the 'less is more' look? I just read that. Maybe there is something to that theory. A little face powder, a hint of sheer gloss on lips and pretty lashes is all you really need.

Check out Lash Power here.

Penny's makeup looks great! She is stunning. Remember when she was employed as Tom Cruise's girlfriend? I bet she's grateful for getting out of that contract. The only thing that came out of their relationship was that stink bomb, Vanilla Sky.
I hear Ashlee is pregnant! I don't think you can flatiron a newborn baby's hair. She and Pete will have to change their coifs when the baby comes so everyone matches. I'm thinking curls.

Oh Mary Kate! Let's talk about the toilet cozy around her head! Why not go all the way and wear a turban? She must have been rummaging around in the old Dynasty wardrobe department to dig up that fossil of a dress.

Spock sleeves. Very Xenu couture. For someone who proclaims to love fashion, Posh makes some bad sartorial choices.

This is the color for the spring/summer as demonstrated by Uma. I am all over orange this season. The dress is a bit baggy but who am I to criticise as I sit here in slippers and green shorts?
Let the baby rumors begin! No, Vince Vaughn is NOT pregnant despite this telling photo.

The outfit was bad enough without adding insult to injury with those red pumps. It's very "Michael Jackson, Beat It" isn't it? A Members Only jacket and white glove would complete the look.

HOW DO YOU get skin that perfect? Dita, please tell me!
Dita Von Teese is flawless. I want to know all her skin care secrets. I love how she always, always looks like she stepped out of a film set from the 1940's.
Friends, we need to talk. I need you to recognize that leggings are not pants. They are meant to be worn under short skirts or shorts. I've seen numerous starlets don these Lycra blended undergarments and head out the door to grab a non fat mocha at the Coffee Bean. Please stop the madness.
I hold Lindsay Lohan, she of the bloated face and crimped hair in the above photo, responsible. Leggings are NOT flattering unless you don't have hips. More than that, its akin to going outside wearing nothing but a bra and a pair of underpants with high heels.

Here's Dana Delaney, remember her on China Beach? I loved her in that show. And I loved that show even though I was a young teenager when it was on. She looks great, healthy and glowing, in this picture.
When I was a young lass on the party circuit, I would apply full face makeup and head out for a night of dancing and multiple vodka tonics. Near the end of the night, I would make the inevitable trip to the bathroom and stare at myself in half drunken horror when the reflection, not unlike Courtney Love's face above, stared back at me. I'd see smeared makeup, faded lipstick, eyeshadow that had creased, reddened eyes and clumpy mascara. My hair flat from sweat, I'd be a sight and not a pretty one. But no matter what, I'd always floss my teeth and brush before bed. I doubt Courtney shares the same bedtime habit.

Dior for a shiny spring

My favorite brand of gloss has been Dior for a long time. Ever since I went to Sephora a few years ago and parted ways with nearly thirty dollars to buy myself a tube of lovely pink gloss. It was worth it because I got compliments on the shine and shade plus I loved it and that's all that really matters, right?

The color and texture is ideal and the little flecks of sparkle give my lips a resplendant shine. Ultra Gloss Reflect features a short bristled brush to paint the color onto your mouth. Contains lots of shimmer and when the light hits your mouth in a certain way, it looks like thousands of little glittery particles are on your lips begging for a kiss.

Dior Addict High Shine Translucent Lipcolor gives you more shine from a lipstick than I thought possible. This exclusive-to-Sephora lip color smooths out the lines/wrinkles in lips giving you a perfect pout. This lipstick doesn't settle into lines or bleed. There is nothing less sexy than lipcolor that sneaks out of the natural lipline and makes you look like you've been making out with a clown. I tend to shy away from heavy lipsticks but this one has a light formula and it looks like a gloss on your mouth. In other words, you need to check this out ASAP.

Excuse me, Eva but is that Dior's Poison Blue that you are rocking?

This Dior shade is the holy grail of beauty products. Let's take a moment and reflect upon the beauty of this nail polish. A moment of silence, please.

This is a limited edition color of deep midnight blue called Poison Blue. The reason everyone and their sister wants this shade is because of the exotic and perfect color. One coat and your nails shine. This is my first time using a Dior polish and wow! The consistency, shine, texture- it's top notch. The dark sexy blue is hot on both fingernails and toenails. My favorite look is a short nail painted a dark shade. You can't do better than Poison Blue on your nails this spring.

Daily Dollfaces

If I dared to wear those short, tiny shorts Pamela Anderson has on, I would be arrested for indecent exposure. My thighs would be like a can of cinnamon rolls busting out from the container.

She is wearing ballet flats from the Amy Winehouse Crack Collection. I almost bought a pair to wear around the house but I know they would be disgustingly dirty within hours and I hate feeling like a filthy mess.

Reese Witherspoon and I could be best girlfriends. We both have two children, like to read, enjoy shopping, she dates Jake Gyllenhaal, I find him very cute...what more do you need for a friendship?

Michelle Williams looks totally normal pushing the stroller through the streets. She appears shlumpy and makeup free, just like a regular everyday kind of mom out with her child.

Can you imagine working out with Madonna? She'd kick your ass and mine with her situps, push ups, crunches, squats and everything else. Then she would make you feel bad for eating processed foods. Gwyneth and Madge probaby effect their British accents and talk about organic apples and how they hate the paparazzi. What fun!
Nicole Kidman looks wonderful! The color red suits her complexion and laying off the Botox...well, you can't really tell that she gave up her injections yet. Looking at the full length pictures of her, she does NOT look pregnant at all. Bloated but not six months pregnant. I want to see a big belly and a double chin!
Kelly Ripa and her son, both adorable. I want her shoes.
Teri Hatcher and her daughter have the same size legs and that is not good. Teri needs a good fifteen pounds on her thin frame. Eat your carbs Teri! Fat is your friend.

When I was pregnant, I invested in blue flared jeans and wore them all the time. Jessica Alba's pants remind me of the ones I had. I love her outfit but I wish she would smile more.

Cute outfit Fergie! I love the purple shoes.
Whenever I wear a shirt like hers though, I feel like a man.

The dress on Claudia Schiffer is so cute and I give her points for the leopard print but the tights? The shoes? No to both. A sexy strappy black heel would look one hundred percent better.
Oh goodness. The muscles in Anna Kournakova's (I cant spell it) legs are amazing. I'd love to have a fit muscular body like that but if I worked too hard at it, I'd lose what chest I have and that is a risk I cannot take. I rather lose fat from the hips where I have plenty to spare.

Drugstore Beauty

I have been using the Softsoap Spa Radiant Exfoliating Body Wash and loving it! You cannot beat this product especially for the price. A huge 18 ounce bottle is less than five dollars. I use a big puff to apply this all over my body for a lovely scrub. Skin is left feeling silky and moisturized. Aromatic botanicals, jojoba beads and essential oils nourish the skin. I could use a spa glow every day but getting to a spa is not even the slightest bit possible. Spa Radiant leaves me feeling not only clean but smelling nice with silky skin. It's the next best thing to a spa visit in my world.

When I saw the ad for the Garnier Nutritiniste Deep Wrinkle Treatment, I had to get it. I have a deep forehead wrinkle that drives me crazy, this is why I finally gave myself bangs. I am waiting until the price goes down on those wrinkle fillers ($700 per vial?) so in the meantime, I'm giving this a whirl. It contains vitamin A and may be used all over the face. When I smooth it on all over, my skin looks more even and wrinkles aren't as obvious. It remains to be seen if this is the magic ointment I've been searching for. Don't you think within the next few years, technology will improve and fine lines will be easily erased? If only there was a do it yourself boob job...

I read a report in Good Housekeeping or one of those magazines, that the Biore Pore Minimizing Moisturizer was rated numero uno. Let me admit this- its only been recently that I began using moisturizing during the day. My skin is quite oily and I felt that I did not need a moisturizer before the primer and foundation. But as I get older and see fine lines, I will battle with all I can and that includes using a moisturizer with an spf. I also use sunscreen on my neck and hands every single day. Back to Biore. I have such a serious case or Porexia, I'll do anything to plug up those large pores. Thankfully, this moisturizer does a good job of making the pores seem smaller.
This is always the first step in my morning routine. I smooth it all over my face and use the excess on my neck. Of course there are no pores on my neck, I do it for the sunscreen factor. Next I apply my favorite primer, Skin Alison Raffaele. Between the two products, I almost don't need the foundation but I use it to even out skin tone. My skin looks good all day long and I don't reach for my Clinique pore filler as often.

I go to the salon every couple of months for a good cut and color. But in between, I color my annoying roots. Things that annoy me- dark roots, large pores and fine lines on my face. Here is a great solution to the root touch up, Clairol Perfect 10. Within ten minutes, your hair is colored and ready to rinse. Ten minutes? So much better than the usual thirty minute countdown! I've used this twice and am pleased with the results both times.
And you can rinse off the plastic gloves and use them to apply self tanning lotion this summer!

I want to send Kate Walsh a box of Clairol Perfect 10 hair color. I really loved her as a redhead! Plus that Perfect 10 stuff is great.

Another Kate, this one Hudson. I'm torn over the off the shoulder Flashdance gown. Sort of looks like a tablecloth my grandmother might have purchased at Big Lots.

Lipgloss for Spring

Here are three lipglosses that will find permanent homes in my purse all season. I should switch handbags because my back hurts all the time but how will I ever carry all I need in a tiny bag?

Clinique Superbalm is like a protectant, treatment and gloss all rolled into one package. Superbalm gives you sheer color that is glossy and lovely alone but add shine if you wear them over lipstick. I love the extra moisture that Superbalm imparts on my lips. There's nothing worse than peeling, scaley lips. You know when youre talking to someone and they keep licking their dry lips? Offer up some Superbalm. If you are more of a naturalist than a glamour girl, then go for the Superbalm because that hint of shine and color is flattering and your lips stay soft.

London fashion designer Christopher Kane designed this limited edition Lancome Juicy Tubes. You know all about Juicy Tubes? Extreme shine, lightly scented and so pretty on your mouth. Your lips secretly cry out KISS ME when you wear Juicy Tubes. I'm sure you've tried them once or twice. These Christopher Kane ones have that neat little sketch embossed on the tube and looks as beautiful on the outside as what's on the inside. Check out the colors here- I'm partial to the Moulin Rose shade.

Tarte brings out yet another cool product. The tubes of Double Dose look kind of spacy and modern. A pigmented berry boost is bordered by a clear gloss. The Berry Boost contains goji, acai, maracuja, acerola and pomegranate which are all antioxidants that are soooo good for you. I think I kind of want to eat the middle. There is also peppermint oil and shea butter which is very nourishing. So you get the color with all the berry goodness and the gloss for the shine and moisture. A winning combination.

CARGO PlantLove for Earth Day

I wanted to pass this information along. CARGO is a great brand and these celebrity lipstick shades are so pretty. You will want to get a lipstick or two because a portion of every sale will go to charity! And did you realize that Earth Day is right around the corner? April 22. I'll wear my Planet Earth tee shirt (similar to this one) and continue trying to save the environment in my own little way. Here are a few easy things to do: recycle cans, glass and paper, save water- turn it off when its not in use, replace grass with fake grass to save lawn mower emissions, reuse plastic bags, low energy bulbs installed the house, using vinegar to clean, run dishwasher at night. Click here for more tips.

The NEW celebrity PlantLove shades have been created by celebrity mothers, Kim Raver, Angie Harmon and Denise Richards – all of which care about their children as much as they care about our earth and joined forces with CARGO to help make the world a more beautiful and earth friendly place.

CARGO PlantLove is a revolutionary lipstick containing a lipstick tube made entirely out of corn - a renewable and abundant resource. The outer carton is also made of flower paper embedded with real flower seeds, which are plantable, so they allow you to give more green back to the earth. $2.00 from each tube sold is donated to St. Jude’s Pediatrics Research Hospital. Available at Sephora.com

BalmShelter Lip Gloss

another fun review from my girl, Supermodel!

If you are a lip gloss aficionado, but hate that tacky, sticky, gooey feeling, Balm Shelter is the gloss for you! Not having had the chance to sample this line as of yet, I checked out the company website. The creators of these products are gorgeous girls and are testimony alone to the quality of this product! I was able to sample soft, frosty Ghetto Girl, and Pin-Up Girl, which is a glamorous red. I loved how my lips felt…moisturized and adored. These glosses are all formulated in a strawberry-banana scent and my kids said my lips smelled “yummy”. The tubes are generously portioned and come in a wide array of shades to fit any personality.

Even pregnant with twins, Angelina is gorgeous. I envy her beauty and curvy figure!
If I could wake up tomorrow morning and look just like her, I'd never ask for another thing again, I promise.

I have this exact same outfit from the skinny jeans to the gray sweater to the ballet flats. Cameron Diaz and I are like twins! Sisters? Cousins.

Ken Paves works his magic through Jessica Simpson's hair. And by magic, I mean he's attaching a wig to her head. I wonder if he dies a little when he looks at the mess on Amy Winehouse's head?

It's the Sex and the City (Botox, Bags and Wrinkles) crew! Where's Mr. Big?
I strongly disagree with Kristen Davis's choice of footwear and actually, the entire ensemble. Is that a sports coat with the arms ripped off? The shoes are very Bananrama circa 1986. Where's her stylist? Fired!
Renee Zellweger looks great! I love the way her red dress matches the red soles of her Christian Louboutins. That's the way to coordinate.

Lisa Marie Presley looks like she's hosting a Renaissance Festival. I went to one of those once and saw strange things like Pickles on Sticks and enormous turkey legs covered in oil.
Love the Zoot suit. Is that what people mean when they say Hot Mess?

Kate Moss gets wet at the Jurassic Park ride at Universal Studios. When I went on that ride, I wore a skimpy water proof poncho tied so tight around my head I almost suffocated. All to keep my hair dry! I didn't want to get wet and spend the day in damp clothes. The hood was so tight that I couldn't even see, all that stuck out was my nose. I missed the whole ride due to vanity!

Good thing Helena Christianson is gazing down because homegirl is looking tired! Gwyneth's shoes are like some S&M fetish looking call girl stilettos. They sell similar ones at Party City. I saw them around Halloween.

It's Gwyn again. Better choice of shoes but the dress is a good foot too short.

Why would someone choose to wear huge men's shoes? Mary Kate- Ashley, I don't know who that is but the shoes look like clown clompers.

The stronger the crack, the higher the hair. Isn't that how the saying goes? Actually, Amy Winehouse cleaned up a bit, I dig her Forever 21 inspired outfit.
Her hive is out of control. Let's name what we could hide in her 'do: cigarettes, a case of beer, a footlong Subway sandwich (now only five dollars!), a pair of shoes, a boot, a spare tire, a notebook, a set of pens, a handful of change, an ipod, a bird, car keys, a bottle of perfume and a change of clothes.

Right. I forgot the mouthwash. That could fit too.

Lord & Berry

Lord & Berry is an Italian makeup like that is quickly gaining popularity here. They are known for luxurious eye and lip products and you know how fun it is to play around with eyeshadows and glosses! You can find Lord & Berry on Amazon.com.

This review is brought to you from my pal, Supermodel!

I love fun colors for my eyes! This week I was so lucky to sample several fun products from Lord & Berry! First up were three beautiful Stardust loose eye shadows in Silver, Dark Violet and Aqua. Wow, did my eyes pop! These colors were so easily applied and stayed crease free for hours.

When I paired these amazing colors with Lord & Berry’s Liquid Eyeliner Pen in In the Black, my husband was dazzled! Not being a glamour girl on a daily basis, my love did take notice! Again, I was impressed with this lines ease of use and longevity throughout the day!
Usually when I go on vacation centered around water, I buy a tube of waterproof mascara, use it a few times and then frustrated, throw it away. I despise those flakes and specks that collect under my eyes. Not this time! Lord & Berry’s Raincoat Mascara is so lush and rich, it glides on like velvet. Macadamia nut oils leave left my eyelashes feeling protected and nourished. Hours later after swimming and splashing in the spa, my lashes were still clump free and coated. Easily removed with my normal eye make up remover, this product is a new vacation companion!

To complete the package, I also used Lord and Berry’s Ultimate Lip liner in Espresso. This deep plum color was easily paired with a neutral everyday gloss and I was complemented on the color several times throughout the day. Thank you Lord & Berry for my new color palette!

What I'm loving right now...

I was in Sephora (cue the angels sitting on clouds with harps) and I ended up buying this Glycolic Exfoliating Wash. I've been wanting to test DDF so here's my first go around with this brand. Pricey, yes. But the bottle is quite large and you only use a dot of it so I am hoping it will last for a long time. Given my proclivity towards over usage of products, I expect to have it for about two weeks.

This is supposed to (according to the Sephora description)- remove dead skin cells that clog pores, impede moisturization, and make skin look dull and lifeless. DDF Glycolic Exfoliating Wash also reduces fine lines and wrinkles while softening the skin.

It has a very nice minty smell and makes my skin super soft. I am hopeful this product will make me look twenty- two again.

If you buy only one nail polish this season, let it be DAYTRIPPER by Deborah Lippmann. I've reviewed her polishes before so you know how fabulous they are- the polishes dry quickly, look shiny, last a long time. The color of this polish is what really sends me over the edge. This is the perfect union of pink with a dash of melon. Ideal for fingernails and toenails. Its eye catching without being showy. Nice for a mom, a teen, a grandma, professional at work or someone who is home all day (me). I implore you to check out the website and get your bottle!

I love this brand. Skin Effects by Dr. Jeffrey Dover is available at your local drugstore. Its easy to find, not terribly expensive and the products deliver results. This is an overnight cream that moisturizes, hydrates, and encourages collagen production. I try to apply this every night before bed. I like a nice thick cream before bed. During the day, I want moisturizer to absorb quickly but at night, I need something like this. They say to use a small amount but I use a dollop. I overdue it every time. Is that a bad thing?

Ready for your spring fragrance? Nothing says tropical oasis like a scent from Comptoir Sud Pacifique. Vanille Mokha is a mixed of vanilla and cream and coffee. I kind of want to drink it. All the scents from Comptoir smell like a faraway island where you can walk around with a crown of flowers in your hair and go barefoot. Another fragrance I cannot resist is Aqua Motu. This smells like the beach, the salty water and crisp briny air. It contains essences of warm sand and kelp! I guess you could layer the fragrances and really smell like a Caribbean island. Play a little Bob Marley and get into it.
Among other products, Dermaquest makes DermaLash and Dermaquest C-Lipoic Lip Enhancer. Dermalash will encourage lash growth and you will find longer, stronger lashes framing your eyes in about three weeks. I was using another brand of lash product then switched to this one so I could test and report to you. YES the lash stimulating products work. Use common sense when applying- only a thin coat at your lash line before bed. People do stupid things and end up with eye infections and complain about the product but used correctly, these do wonders.

The Lip Enhancer works twenty seconds after applying. It feels like a regular lip gloss maybe a little more hydration than a gloss. My mouth looks rosier and fuller after applying. I love it. Hopefully this is the kind of product that will help ward off the inevitable shrinkage of lips. As we age we lose volume in the mouth, or so I hear! I would be very interested in trying out more Dermaquest products. Two big thumbs up!

DuWop has some fun stuff for you to try. The Double Glow is a complexion enhancing cream in a little pot. Dab it on with your fingers and apply sparingly. If you feel adventurous and artistic, dip your brush into the Double Glow and combine with moisturizer for a bright look.

Lip Venom is what put DuWop on the cosmetic map. It's a cult favorite. I bet you have a tube of it somewhere, don't you? It's a favorite because it plumps your lips and makes you look exactly like Angelina Jolie! Now the Venom is available in a tube like a lipstick. Works the same miracles, just in a different form.
Try the Revolotion Body makeup for summer. It will give your body a nice glow and protect from the sun with an spf15. This is such a great product to apply before you show some skin. It moisturizes and gives you a hint of color. I love the way it quickly absorbs and you can go darker if you want to keep applying it. Not a self tanner, Revolotion will wash off.

Daily Dollfaces

Everything is (sort of) fine until you scroll down and see Mariah Carey's purple shoes! I love a good pair of those but those are all kinds of wrong.

Tori is rocking the baby bump in some cute clothes! I'm anxious to read her book, I haven't received my copy yet. I want the scoop on the Beverly Hills 90120 set.

One of the most beautiful women on tv, Parminder Negra from ER.

Kelly Pickler in some very uncomfortable, bunion inducing shoes.

Jodie Foster is one of the few child stars who actually turned out okay. Check out her muscular gams!

I read a comment on another board and the person said, "Ewww...look at Hilary Swank's hair!" I believe she cut it for her role in the movie about Amelia Earhart. If a movie wasn't in the works already, I would have attempted to write a screenplay myself. Amelia is a fascinating woman.

Fierce shoes! I had a dream about Ellen Page last night. She was going to star in a film I wrote. A few weeks ago I dreamed that Diablo Cody cut my hair into a horrible "Posh" 'do.

Cindy Crawford looks hot! Love the dress. Don't you wonder how much work she's had done? I say Botox for sure. Maybe an eye lift.

Alanis Morrisette has come along way since "You Oughta Know". That was every bitter ex-girlfriend's anthem in the mid-90's.
