St. Regis Monarch Beach, Part II

A beautiful place to exchange wedding vows.

One example of the glorious flowers found at Monarch Beach.
I think I recognize the background from episodes of The Bachelor.

Fog settles over the Botanical Gardens giving it a misty, magical feeling.

This reminds me of a painting.

Note the architecture.

This little guy enjoyed watching us eat gourmet burgers and fries seasoned with truffle oil.

Another view of the mermaid.

Golfers paradise

We meet up with Amanda, the marketing wiz I met at the Indie Spirit Film Awards. She greets us warmly and we begin our tour of the resort. We stroll over to the golf course, noting the scenic view. The Botanical Garden is home to bright flowers bursting with color. Majestic palms rise into the gray fog of the morning. As we stroll through the magnificent grounds, the sun comes out and the fog disappears.

There is a huge pool designed for children, perfect for them to play and splash and not bother the adults over in their more secluded pool. A toy filled room for kids is tended by certified childcare workers. A lounge/restaurant offers cocktails and food for those who chose to play golf or hang around the club. There are many meeting rooms for special events, plus numerous scenic spots for weddings or parties. A poolside cafe offers whatever you might need poolside. I'd like a mojito and keep them coming.
In the garden

We walk into the coffee shop where the rich smell of chocolate hangs in the air. You can find all kinds of sweet treats to satisfy any craving in here. There are several restaurants to choose from including Motif, where we eat lunch overlooking the pool, flowers, and palm trees. With the ocean so close we smell the sea air and watch the birds fly overhead.

The St. Regis Monarch Beach has plenty to admire. Every room or area of the resort is decorated with taste and luxury, attention to detail is apparent whether it’s the music playing in the gift shop or the clipped grass on the golf course. For me, this was a rare day but for others, such as members of the resort, (hello Housewives of Orange County) they can enjoy benefits all year long, whenever they want to drop in for drinks by the pool or a facial, massage or workout in the fitness center.

We don't want to leave. Alas, I am needed at home, so with my Spa Gaucin goodie bag and pictures from my day, we head back to reality. I think I might need to have days like this a little more often.

The St. Regis Monarch Beach is located in Dana Point, only a short drive from San Diego or Los Angeles. You could easily take a vacation here, as there is much to do in the area plus activites to keep you busy at Monarch Beach. Big named celebs drop by now and then and Stonehill Tavern is an award winning restaurant located on the grounds. For more information, click here.
Big thanks to Amanda for a wonderful day!
